Medical Oncologist/Hematologist

Whenever drug therapy is prescribed to help eradicate cancerous cells, patients are placed under the care of a board-certified specialist in medical oncology. Our medical oncologists provide supportive care in addition to making treatment decisions and monitoring each patient’s progress. A medical oncologist coordinates care for patients who require complex, multifaceted treatment by other specialists. They care for patients from the moment of diagnosis through the course of the disease.

A hematologist is a doctor who specializes in treating blood disorders. Hematologists focus on treating cancers that arise in blood cells, such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
